A Day in the Life of a Poet & CEO in Zimbabwe

What does a typical day look like for a poet who is also building a publishing company? Many people imagine that writers spend all day creating poems. The reality is very different. This article offers a behind-the-scenes look at my daily life as I balance writing, business, learning, and the dream of growing LugenZim Tech into a platform that reaches readers around the world.

Balancing Creativity, Business, and the Dream of Building LugenZim Tech

People often ask me what it is like to be a poet. Some imagine that I spend every hour sitting by a window with a notebook, waiting for inspiration to arrive. Others believe that once a poem is written, the work is finished. While those ideas may sound romantic, the reality is very different.

Being a poet is only one part of my life.

Every day begins with gratitude. Before I think about books, business, or technology, I take time to pray and thank God for another opportunity to learn, improve, and serve others through the gifts He has given me. That quiet time helps me begin the day with purpose instead of pressure.

Once the day begins, my attention quickly shifts to LugenZim Tech. Running an independent publishing business means wearing many different hats. On any given day, I might be writing a new poem, editing an eBook, designing a book cover, improving the website, responding to customer emails, researching copyright laws, or learning new skills that will help the business grow.

No two days are ever exactly the same.

One morning I may spend several hours perfecting the wording of a single poem. The next day I may be writing legal policies, updating product pages, or testing new website features. Sometimes I am focused entirely on search engine optimization so that more readers can discover my work through Google. Other days I am learning about digital publishing, online marketing, or ways to improve the reading experience for my customers.

Although writing remains my greatest passion, building LugenZim Tech requires much more than creativity alone. It requires discipline, patience, planning, and a willingness to keep learning every single day. Every improvement I make today lays the foundation for a stronger business tomorrow.

Living in Zimbabwe has also taught me valuable lessons about perseverance. There are days when electricity is unavailable because of load shedding. Internet connections are sometimes unreliable, and unexpected challenges can interrupt carefully planned schedules. Instead of allowing these obstacles to discourage me, I have learned to adapt. Some of my favourite poems were written during quiet evenings when the lights were out and the world seemed wonderfully still. Those moments reminded me that inspiration does not depend on perfect circumstances.

One of the greatest joys of my work is watching an idea slowly become reality. A simple thought becomes a poem. Several poems become a manuscript. A manuscript becomes a professionally designed eBook. An eBook becomes part of the growing LugenZim Tech library, ready to inspire readers from different countries and different walks of life.

That transformation never stops amazing me.

Running LugenZim Tech also means thinking beyond today's work. I spend time planning future books, improving customer experience, strengthening website security, exploring better technologies, and imagining new ways to serve readers around the world. Every decision is made with one question in mind: "How can I make this better for my readers?"

People often see the finished product but rarely see the hundreds of hours invested behind the scenes. Every published book represents countless revisions, late nights, research, proofreading, formatting, testing, and careful attention to detail. Success is rarely the result of one extraordinary moment. More often, it is built through thousands of ordinary moments of consistent effort.

Despite the responsibilities of running a business, I never want to lose the simple joy that first led me to writing. Every new poem reminds me why I began this journey. It reminds me that words have the power to comfort the discouraged, strengthen the weary, inspire the hopeful, and leave a lasting impact long after the final page has been turned.

Looking ahead, my vision for LugenZim Tech continues to grow. I hope to publish many more poetry collections, inspirational books, audiobooks, and creative works that reach readers across the world. My dream is not simply to build a successful business, but to build a publishing platform known for excellence, originality, integrity, and meaningful literature.

At the end of each day, I often pause to reflect on everything that has been accomplished. Some days produce new poems. Other days produce new ideas. Occasionally, progress comes through solving problems rather than creating new content. Yet every day moves the journey forward, and every small step brings the vision closer to reality.

Being both a poet and the founder of LugenZim Tech is a responsibility I deeply value. It reminds me that dreams are not achieved overnight. They are built patiently, one decision at a time, one lesson at a time, one page at a time.

And tomorrow, by God's grace, the journey continues.
